Marriage, what is it ?
Well it is a loving relationship between two people.
Two people with different roles, two people who think differently.
Marriage shouldn't be a competition within the relationship, two people should be able to recognize their differences and weaknesses.
The good thing about marriage where one person is weak then the other can be strong.
If a man is bad with money then it would be silly to put him in charge of paying all the bills, it may be traditionally the man's roll to look after the money but if he is no good at it then it would be stupid. Don't let society dictate you into poverty.
On the other hand if the woman is very good with money then she is the natural choice to look after all those bill and make sure everything is paid on time.
It just makes common sense.
But trouble can start when we don't humble ourselves and recognize our weaknesses.
We all have weaknesses and we have to accept that, but we also have strengths.
Marriage is all about recognizing and being honest about the weaknesses and strengths we have and working together as a team.
Marriage is team work.
We are not at war with our partner.
Marriage is all about mutual respect. It takes a lot of work to make a marriage work. There will be ups and downs, there will be good times and bad times. There will be routine and perhaps times when the marriage seems flat and dull but it is both persons responsibility to keep the romance alive in the marriage.
Romance dies because you let it die.
Its both persons responsibility to create romantic moments so that love can continue to grow and you don't get into an attitude of routine.
Marriage is hard work, but it is worth it.
