Brief history:

Wi’am Center, the Palestinian Center resolving conflicts: the center is a non-governmental, humanitarian eventually, Arabic in depth and Palestinian originally.

It was founded in March 1994 by youth events that ensure the community service of all classes to meet different needs.

The Israeli closure of the city of Jerusalem and the construction of the wall in addition to the economic, political, and cultural blockade of the Palestinian areas policy has led to unemployment on one hand and inflation on the other.

Repeated incursions by the Israeli forces on the Palestinian scene has increased different pressures, particularly psychological stress and frustration and deprivation, which exhausted the Palestinian people, which led to an increase in disputes, conflicts and complexity, and fork antagonists.

Based on the foregoing, the people with scientific qualifications and outstanding experience established a center which based on conflict resolution at the local level and to study and analyze the conflicts at the regional and international levels. They provide their experience to their brothers and sisters and sons and daughters of their people so that they may contribute as much as our capabilities in building a Palestinian majestic society.

 

Objectives:

 

The aim of establishing this center is to help the Palestinian people to solve problems in such critical and difficult times, we are experiencing the users mind, understanding and dialogue, meanwhile, kindness replace violence, and reconciliation replace strife, souls get closer and hearts converge.

The brain then be the solution for all differences and disputes, so the easy language is our style, dialogue is our way, and the logic is our understanding Constitution and conciliation is our goal.

Based on our Arab authentic and original habits which are legacy generations after generations, we solve all disputes no matter how intense and language, negotiation and understanding, reason and common sense, the dialogue got branched. Some modern educational methods that ensures the deepening in this place was activated where many experts was attracted by our people, intellectuals, educators and professionals, who have the upper hand in the resolution of disputes and conflicts, whether they are men or women who fought days, or intellectuals with high academic qualifications.

 

Therefore we care about building the civilized society on justice, equality. We are committed to the principles of transparency and accountability through various educational and awareness sessions and dialogues aimed at multi-cultural activities, whether at the local, regional or global.

 

Centre's role:

The center is doing the role of mediator more than the arbitrator because we believe in the equation profit for all, and we seek to help marginalized groups and many of the male and female citizens to overcome the problems in order to establish the concept of pluralism within the Unionist track in building a civil society and to highlight the role through the following tasks:

  1. Resolving disputes between members of Palestinian civilized society in peaceful non-violent ways.

  2. Training a class of young people serves as the mediator, and creates a network of trained mediators to do problem solving in Palestinian society by teaching them ways and means and mechanisms to resolve the dispute using the understanding, dialogue and communication.

  3. Illustrate how to practice "reconciliation" and conflict resolution for classes of people through lectures, seminars and workshops.

  4. Coordinate with Palestinian institutions dealing with issues of justice, peace and non-violence, conflict resolution and democracy education.

  5. Raise awareness of the Palestinian community through brochures, leaflets, which included topics relating to civic education.

  6. Deepening the concept of civil society and the dissemination of community awareness through the activation of networking and coordination between the various non-governmental organizations, religious institutions, and relevant institutions on the one hand and between governmental institutions on the other.

  7. Publication of brochures and literature dealing with the culture of justice, peace and the codification of oral history in the Holy Land.

  8. Building and developing the capabilities and skills of young people in order to create a network of cooperation between groups and youth initiatives.

  9. Improving social and psychological reality for individuals by providing guidance, psychological and social services.

  10. Strengthen and empowering the role of women and youth to participate in community building at all levels.

  11. Participate in advocacy efforts and defend the just cause of the Palestinian people.

  12. The development of cultural exchanges between peoples and mutual visits to deepen the dialogue of cultures and religions based on a culture of acceptance of others as they are.

 

Public policy:-

The Center pursues an objective and impartial policy, where the doors are open for all the Palestinian people on the different categories of intellectual, religious and political, social and economic backgrounds. We welcome and listen to their problems and help them solve their differences and disputes, our goal is to achieve the public interest in the first place and the advancement of Palestinian society.

 

The activities of The Center: -

  1. The training of Palestinian cadres to resolve conflicts, both within and outside Palestine, such as some of the exercises in local and foreign universities in America and Germany, Europe and the Middle East.

  2. The center solved hundreds of problems so far. the percentage of the problems that have been solved was 87% so far, while the percentage that have not been resolved, was a result of political and economic factors, social and psychological beyond our control.

  3. Participation in the training of youth groups to resolve conflicts internally and externally, it participates to resolve conflicts in the Palestinian institutions and universities as well as the Center’s training courses for some security and civilian apparatuses and all popular categories.

  4. The increasing number of citizens volunteers in the center where the number now stands at dozens. Where they devote their time and put their abilities to serve the goals of the center.

    1. Intensify youth activities and raise the level of awareness and participation through workshops and conferences at all levels calling for a culture of pluralism and citizenship and deepen the dialogue of cultures and religions dialogue.

    2. Strengthen activities for children to provide opportunities for them to be able to express themselves safely and tranquility, love and work to bridge the various needs in cooperation with the institutions concerned.

    3. Justness of our cause in front of international forums to explain through the available means and receive the fact-finding delegations and communicating with them to explain the case and arrange cultural programs within the framework of alternative tourism.

    4. Networking and coordination with various institutions in order to strengthen the building on the basis of citizenship and transmit the spirit of responsibility of civil society.

    5. Activating the role of women in the reform decision-making positions and influence effectively the positively in the various fields public life.

    6. Provide an alternative vision for the traditional role of women in Palestinian society and clarify the effective and creative role as a partner in development and social development process.

    7. Encourage women to enter the economic sector and strengthen the the capabilities of women who have a productive projects.

    8. To open bridges of communication among women in Palestine and the Arab region and the world to participate in the women's networking and exchange of visits and publications and to benefit from Arab and international women's movement experiences.

    9. To focus on civic education on the topic of social role (Gender) and try to change stereotypes of women and men, the male and the female to build an open

    10. democratic society where all the components of society enjoy citizenship rights and duties.

    11. Encouraging communication between different civilizations and religions dialogue through conferences and workshops inside and outside the country.
