Born in Bethlehem

over 2000 years ago Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem,

But why?, why was he born in Bethlehem?

Quite simply it was prophesied in the old Testament.

Micah 5 verse 2 says that someone will come out of Judah and rule his people.

Even though Mary and Joseph didn't live in Bethlehem it was still prophesied that this city would witness the birth of the messiah.

What a privilege for the city, To see the birth of their messiah.

Mary was the chosen one to give birth to the Messiah and Bethlehem was the chosen city to host this royal baby.

And so, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Not like a king but in a humble stable with the animals.

God came in his humility and dwelt with man.

Bethlehem witnessed something special on that Holy night, The birth of a baby who would be saviour of the world.

I am sure that when this baby was born they didn't understand the true significance of the birth but afterwards when Jesus practiced his ministry and touched so many lives and when Jesus died and rose again, they would begin to understand.

Jesus came to save the people of Bethlehem, because he loved them.

Not only Bethlehem but the whole world too.
