The innkeeper
Well it was late at night when there was a knock on my door .
I'd just locked up so I was reluctant to answer it .
But I am glad I did , because there was a young couple just standing there looking exhausted.
They wanted a room for the night .
"I'm sorry" I said "we're full up"
Then my wife suggested the stable, I thought it was a stupid idea myself but the young couple jumped at the idea.
I showed them the stable and they settled in for the night .
It wasn't long afterwards that I heard screams of pain.
It sounded like someone was been murdered, I rushed to the stable only to find the young lady was having her baby right then and there.
My wife got water and towels and together we helped with the birth.
And then the baby arrived, a boy ,there was so much joy .
Well it was quite an eventful night.
