Have you ever seen some one begin to build a house?
They dig in the rock face which shows you exactly where there house is going to be.
Then they start putting in the most important part, the foundation.
Once the foundation is in place then they begin with the walls, the walls go up very quickly and after that the roof goes up.
Its beginning to look like a house.
And then nothing.
You wait and wait to see the progress but nothing.
You have a shell but there isn't a house to live in.
Windows aren't put in, a door isn't put in.
Nothing happens.
The house needs electricity but nothing happens.
You wait and wait so see its progress but nothing.
And then through time you find out that the owner of the house ran out of money.
He didn't count the cost to build his house.
He just went on and built it anyways and after a little while there was no money left.
All he has left is a shell of a house, but nothing to live in
We need to count the cost.
Preperation is everything.
When you decide if you want to become a Christian you should think of the cost.
We should never think “Life will be great when I follow Jesus” because sometimes it isn't.
There can be a real cost to following Jesus.
Some people pay with their lives to follow Jesus.
Before you follow Jesus count the cost because the cost is real.
The reward is also very real too.
It is worth it but life doesn't always give us what we want or think we deserve .
