The cross was an evil device.
It was used to punish rebellion,
If you rebelled against Rome you would end up on a cross.
Your humiliation would be there for all to see.
You were executed on a public highway so that your death would be a lesson to others.
It was a painful agonising death.
The Cross is a symbol of extreme punishment.
But it's also a symbol of extreme victory.
Jesus was crucified on a wooded cross.
He suffered the humiliation and shame.
But he didn't only just die on the cross,
He took the sins of the world on the cross.
nailed to that wooded cross was Jesus and the sins of the world.
Sin would be defeated, Death would be defeated.
Today our sins can be forgiven, Today we can receive eternal life
because of what Jesus done on that painful cross.
Give your life to Jesus today.
Let him forgive you of your sin and give you eternal life.
