Herod was a wicked king.
He tried to deceive the wise men when they came to visit Jesus.
He told them that he wanted to worship the new baby, but it was a lie, he intended to kill the baby Jesus because he would be a challenge to his throne, it wasn't true of course but he didn't know that.
But the wise men were truly wise, they listened to God and not King Herod.
The wise men were warned in a dream not to go to Herod.
They knew God was speaking and made new plans.
God was looking after the Baby Jesus.
Baby Jesus had a purpose to fulfil, God had called him for a very important mission and no one would get in the way of that, Not even King Herod.
King Herod was so furious, when he heard that the Wise men had left by another route that he raged with anger and his true heart was exposed.
He sent his soldiers out to kill every male child 2 years and under.
Herod the king brought Weeping and mourning,
Jesus the King of Kings brought Joy and peace.
God protected the Holy family and God can protect you too today.
Give your life to him.
