We are living in a very difficult time!

no one would have imagined at the start of 2020 that it would turn out like this, Bethlehem has lost its tourism industry and people have lost their

jobs. It is a disaster for the economy and for families.

The sad thing is that the future doesn't look very bright either.

We just don't know when we will get back to normal, Will a Covid vaccine be the answer to all our prayers? Will it work? Will it mean that borders can be opened once again and tourists can start coming back? How long will it take for the tourists to come back?

Many questions but not many answers.

But even though the virus has had a disastrous effect on Bethlehem there are people who have shone through during this difficult time.

We owe a big thank you to our doctors and nurses who have put their lives on the line to look after the many people who have been in hospital because of the virus. They have looked after the Palestinian people with extra special care.

The testers for covid have done a wonderful Job, Testing the people day in and day out, making sure the samples get to the labs, Then there are the lab technicians who have a huge job on their hands testing all these samples.

We focus on the results of the people who have the virus but the lab technicians are testing thousands of samples and they are doing a great job.

We have the police and soldiers out on the streets helping people comply with the law, They don't want to be tough on people but want to protect Palestine from the effects of the virus.

We may get annoyed at times that we have to wear a mask but it is for our protection and good, It is also for our families protection.

Know one wants to take the virus home to a loved one.

There are also many others who are out there doing a wonderful job keeping us all safe during this difficult time, and to those we want to say a big THANK YOU.
