Have you ever been into a shop or an airport and been asked if you have a weapon?

Some people carry a gun with them all the time.

In England we have a lot of young people carrying knives.

Do you carry any kind of weapon?

There are all kinds of weapons you can use, If you were in one on one combat you would use a knife or a gun.

If you were in the army you could use a tank or a drone.

All these weapons can inflict a lot of damage.

Even a simple stone can become a weapon and it can be deadly, look at Goliath,

This mighty man was taken out by a simple stone.

As Christians we have different weapons to use.

Because we recognize that there is a different battle, It is spiritual.

There is more to this world than what we see.

The bible tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but that there are spiritual powers and forces behind people, pushing their agenda.

When you read the book of Daniel, he prayed and an answer was sent but the prince of Persia fought the archangel Michael which delayed Daniel's answer.

The bible tells us that our spiritual weapons are the Belt of truth, The breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the Gospel of peace, Shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the spirit and praying in the spirit.

These are weapons to defeat a real enemy out there.

Paul when he wrote spoke about what he could see around him, and the land was occupied by the Romans, Roman soldiers would be everywhere. So Paul used the Roman soldier as an example of spiritual warfare.
