In a battle a shield is good because when the enemy attacks with spears or darts you can lift up the shield and the darts just bounce off, The bible tells us to lift up the shield of faith.

Because the devil will shoot Firey darts at us.

The Sheild is our faith, So get to know your faith, get to know what you believe.

If you don't know what you believe then really you don't have a shield and the devil will exploit that and fire his darts at you.

And you are vulnerable.
