Wayne Rooney Testimonial 3/8/16
We had bought our tickets a long time ago so we were really exited when the day finally came! It was time for us to go to Old Trafford and watch Manchester United play. It was only a friendly although it was more than a friendly. Wayne Rooney's testimonial. A game to celebrate Wayne Rooney’s 10 years at Manchester United.
The drive up was exciting as we waited to hear the team news. Would Zlatan Ibrahimovic play his first game at Old Trafford? Would any of the other new signings start and if so how good would they be? How long would Rooney play for? Not forgetting it was Jose Mourinho first game at Old Trafford
When we got to the ground we went to the club shop. A huge store in the Old Trafford stadium selling only Manchester United things. After this we went for some food before kick off.
Going inside the stadium was exciting… the sea of red all around with everyone wearing their scarves and Man Utd shirts. When the players finally walked out they made a guard of honour for Wayne Rooney with the stand to our left holding up a big Rooney banner. Now the excitement was building for the kick off with people guessing the scoreline and wondering who would score first.
In the end the game was boring! A boring 0 - 0. At the final whistle the players swapped shirts and before they went back down the tunnel Rooney addressed the crowd. It wasn't a great game but great to experience the atmosphere of a game at Old Trafford
